Varroa Mite Counter Jar

Varroa Mite Counter Jar is a useful & inexpensive way to check mite levels. Add alcohol with 50-10- ml of alcohol into bottom of the jar or alternatively car windshield fluid. Add 1/2 cup of bees and shake slowly for approximately 1 1/2 minutes. The alcohol causes the mites to fall off and collect into the other jar. If your bees have, items you can easily count how many which is an effective tool to know when treatment needs to be applied.
