Tips for using the honey gate

It is important to make sure your honey gate has a good seal. One way to ensure this is take a blow dryer and heat the plastic on the bucket then install your gate. add water to the bucket and see if it has a good seal before you start extracting. Also, you do not take the honey gate off to clean it. Leave the bucket out for the bees they do a great job of cleaning it up. We get the question a lot how best to clean the bucket and gate. Never use soap in your bucket residue is left behind and could get into your next bucket of honey. Just use water and make sure it dries thoroughly prior to using it again.
