These Wellington Hive Wraps  are 4mm black polypropylene (corrugated plastic) wraps with 5% U.V. protection are used in indoor and outdoor signs and packaging. Lightweight and designed to fold and store flat, the wraps feature a living hinge of 21,000 cycles and a single heat-welded seam. Plus, with four 10” flaps on the top, they make ideal for overwintering bees. To enable air circulation, create a 3/4”-1” entrance hole near the front of the wrapper lid and add 1.5” of insulation. Cover the lid with a heavy object like a brick or stone and leave on the hive until late April for best results.

Note: You can remove earlier to inspect the colony. The black wrap warms up quickly in sunlight, causing the queen to commence laying sooner.
